The 3-tiered tire shelving rack is perfect for small numbers of tires, either alone or mounted on rims. Whether you use it to hold your customers’ tires or to store tires for sale, keeping them on their treads instead of stacking them flat saves a lot of time. The lenght and the width of the rack is the same as the 4 tiers tire shelving and the 5 tiers tire shelving. Only the height varies from one model to another.
Each tier holds 10-12 passenger or light truck tires, for a total of 30-36 tires per rack. Each of the 3 tiers can take up to 500 lbs. The sectional rails are tilted to 45 degrees to properly seat the tires, leaving them less marked at the end of the season. This rack is also easier to load and unload than standard pallet racks.
The shelves are adjustable in 1½” increments, allowing the tiers to be adjusted to suit the tire sizes. It is easier to put the heavier tires in the bottom tier to facilitate the task for employees. Unlike 4- or 5-tier shelving units, 3-tier tire shelves need no ladders for access to the top tier. This is regulated in some areas.

Installation
The shelf unit sets up with ease in 20 minutes. A screwdriver for the centre braces and a hammer, or preferably a rubber mallet, is needed to attach the uprights to the rails. The clip fasteners work with no additional hardware, similar to Baby Rack or Ready Rack systems.
The legs are drilled for floor fasteners included in the box. In some areas, floor anchoring is mandatory. Wall brackets are also included and are usually mounted at the top of the rack to provide greater stability for unloading from the top tier. The same brackets can be used to attach one rack in front of another. Plate fasteners are used to attach them side by side. Assembled in this way, the shelving racks form a sturdy unit. Although Martins Industries does not include installation, we can refer you to an installer for larger numbers of units.

Tire storage containers
The 3-tier tire shelf rack is designed to optimize space in a 40-foot tire storage container. 10 shelving racks, 5 on each side, can be installed in a container to hold a total of approximately 330 tires (see Photo C). With tires well stowed along the sides and an aisle in the middle, it will be easy to find the tires and quickly unload or load them. Storing tires in container racks is actually more economical than stacking them on the floor.
Tire warehouse planning
Martins industries offers a warehouse storage planning service free of charge. For determining the right aisle widths and rack arrangements, our warehouse experts can come to your facility and produce a plan to store a maximum number of tires per square foot.
Wall bracket
The rack can be fastened to the wall with 2 wall brackets. The same brackets can be used to fasten racks one in front of another.
Bracket for multiple racks
Plate fasteners are used to attach 2 tire shelving units side by side, forming a sturdier tire storage system.
Assembly instructions
The shelving rack can be assembled in 20 minutes. It comes in a 92” x 11” x 5” box that weighs 110 lbs. Click here to download assembly instructions (pdf).
