This type of tire rack was developed for customers who need to store tires for heavy trucks and buses, but also large OTR tires for farm machines, mining machinery, etc. This rack allows stacked storage of heavy truck, bus and farm tires – a highly versatile solution that allows you to have a single type of rack for all types of tires apart from the passenger and light truck category.
Heavy truck and bus tire storage
The 80” x 80” deck is optimized to hold 4 stacks of 5 heavy truck and bus tires, more than the standard MTBR rack. Your employees will handle an average of 20 tires per rack as well as storing over 2 tires per square foot. Heavy truck and bus tires are usually stored directly on the floor stacked 7 or 8 high. So if your warehouse ceiling is 20 feet high, for example, you could stack the racks 4 high and you would be stacking the tires 20 high instead of just 8. That means a 60% increase in the number of tires in your warehouse – without building any additions!
OTR, farm and mining tires
This is our only standard rack capable of holding the very large tires used on farm and OTR machines. With a capacity for tires over 100” in diameter, it can take about four 100” tires per rack, stacked 4 racks high. These tires are usually stored directly on the floor stacked 4-6 high. They can’t be stacked higher because of their weight and instability in higher stacks. As a result, this rack can be a very economical and safe way to store OTR tires.
Tire rack construction
The MSR-8080 tire rack is a very rugged unit. It is equipped with 4 removable corner posts that, when removed, do not reduce the rack’s structural capacity. What this does do is reduce shipping costs and save space in the tire warehouse during slower periods such as off seasons. The 60” posts fit into special custom-designed sockets. Without the posts, which are stowed flat between each pallet frame, the racks can be nested 20 high. Many tire distribution centres and tire warehouses use these racks along their receiving docks for fast unloading of trailers or containers full of tires. In this way, you save handling steps, time and money.
Portable tire rack
The truck, bus and OTR rack is a modular unit designed to be transportable. This feature offers considerable advantages over standard pallet racking. It allows for safe storage up to 20 feet high with no need for costly mezzanines or elevator systems. The racks can easily be stacked and moved with a fork lift. In addition, these modular portable racks give you increased flexibility since they allow you to reorganize your warehousing quickly and easily. They can be moved with a forklift or pallet truck.
