Paint and finishing for racks, carts and containers

Whether it is for your shipping racks, your handling carts or your tugger carts, Martins Industries gives a special attention to the finishing steps and we are not only talking about paint here, but many more options.

Powder Coated Paint

Martins Industries is equipped with a cubicle for powder paint and an oven to bake the paint, all working on an automated conveyor. All the carts, racks and containers are washed before being painted, and then they are inspected for quality. Afterwards, they are painted and baked at 400 degres Farenheit for an extreme durability and quality.

Hot Dip Galvanize & Zinc Plated

When your part racks or shipping racks must be stocked outside during slow seasons, we can hot dip galvanize your racks therefore increase their lifetime. When you are dealing with racks and carts mechanisms, we go with Zinc plated, which is much more precise then hot dip galvanize and it also protects against corrosion.

Identify your Racks, Carts & Containers

When finishing the shipping racks and storage racks, we normally identify the racks; if you have storage racks, we canidentify them with colors (Color Coded) for a faster identification of the products. If you have transport racks and handling carts it is very important to identify your racks with:

-         Number & name of the piece located inside the racks
-
Stenciling with the owners name and returning address
-
Identification with a color code of its the place on the assembly line
-
Identification plate with a serial number, date of manufacture, etc.

Options for interior finishing of your Racks, Carts & Containers

Mostly known under the expression ‘dunnage’, the interior finishing of transport racks and handling carts can be made of many different ways. The purpose is to protect and keep your parts steady in the rack or cart when moving. Martins Industries uses the following materials:

-       Different types of plastic, such as HDPE, UHMW, Coroplast
-       Vinyl stripes welded or riveted on the paint
-
Canvas reinforced with protection against scratches of your parts
-       Foam of type Cross-Link Foam, 2lbs, 4lbs or even 6lbs of density
-       Rubber and neoprene to transport glass, doors and windows
-       Conveyors, slides for flow racks, etc

Whether you transport or store glass, automobile parts or aerospace parts, doors & windows, or whatever the weight or dimension of your parts, Martins Industries will be able to guide you in the design of your shipping racks, handling carts and tugger carts.

Conveyor System
For this project of Flow Rack of Kanban type, we used roller conveyors to give access to the motors on the assembly line. The motors arrive directly to the supplier.

There are many ways to identify your racks and carts; the most popular one is to write the name of the owner on the rack 'Stencilling style'. You can see above that the rack was identified with different colors for the side poles.

When you are transporting a part and that the constraint is to protect the finishing we use materials such as Coroplast, Plastic HDPE, UHMW and other protections of type 'A' for finishing.
