Refurbishing Racks
Why not repair or modify your carts and sotorage racks?
At Martins Industries we have two production lines that are completely dedicated to refurbish shipping racks, containers, carts and storing racks. On average, the cost of repairing a transport rack or a handling cart like a brand new is about 35% of the total cost of a new rack.
This is why our clients send us their fleet of racks and containers to refurbish them. The following points are verified when a rack, container or cart goes in a production line:
- General aspect of the rack: Is it worth refurbishing or will it be to expensive?
- Is the rack straight and can it be stacked easily on the other racks?
- Are the stacking caps in good condition (normally the weight stays on the stacking caps)
- Verification of the welds to be sure that they are perfect and sturdy.
- Are the fork guides straight and easily usable?
- The doors and other mechanisms are also verified
Afterwards what needs to be repaired is repaired and noted on the worksheets, the racks and containers are then grinded, washed and ready to be painted with powder coated paint. The stencil is painted and the racks or containers are ready to go!
Rack modifications
Martins Industries offers more than just refurbishing your racks and containers; we also offer you to modify the interior of your racks; what we call ‘dunnage’. This will allow you to put new products in your racks or when your products are modified and do not fit in the rack anymore. At that moment, our engineers work with you and with your new (or modified) product to be able to keep the majority of the rack without modifying it to much. When possible, the modification of the rack or container costs about 50% of a new rack.
