Technical specifications sheet
The OTR tire inflation cage is used for changing and inflating tires for trucks, military vehicles, tractors and aircrafts. This truly heavy-duty inflation cage is manufactured in our Canadian plant using steel that meets the toughest standards in North America.

Tire inflation cage mandatory use

These safety cages, a mandatory precaution for tire inflation, provide good protection and exceed U.S. federal OSHA Standard 29 CFR, 1910.177. Before using the tire inflation cage, please carefully read the instructions on the cage. Centre the tire vertically in the cage using the two steel brackets welded to the base of the cage. Position the tire valve between the uprights. Attach the air chuck to the valve and stand back approximately 10 feet or 3 meters out of the path of the tire and rim.

Tire inflation cage construction

Our tire inflation cages are the strongest on the market. They are built with 2⅜" steel tubing – 6% larger than our competitors’ tubing – welded to a 3/16" steel base with added reinforcements. All welds on our tire inflation cages meet CSA Standard W47.1. The cages are finished with powder coating baked at 400˚F for superior durability and quality. All our tire equipment, shop equipment, tire machinery, tire displays and tire racking come with a 2-year warranty.

Warranty

All our tire equipment, shop equipment, tire machinery, tire displays and tire racking are covered by a 1-year warranty.

Why don’t your employees use safety inflation cages?

Tire explosion without the safety tire cageMost employers do provide their employees with safety cages for inflating heavy truck tires. The problem is that most workers never, or almost never, use them.

Over the past few months, I’ve been in many tire shops and most were equipped with safety inflation cages, but they were usually covered in dust or piled up with boxes or tools, pretty much like a storage shelf or a coat hanger!
