Retreading companies use wire mesh cages to hold discarded rubber to be sent for recycling. The recycled tire basket can also be used to store small tires such as ATV tires, golf cart tires, forklift tires, etc. Another possibility involves holding new or used auto parts to facilitate their handling and storage.
Mesh wire cage uses
The recycled tire basket is widely used in general manufacturing, automobile and food industries. Its main feature is that it is 80% collapsible and stackable. As a result, companies would use it for deliveries involving steady customers, regular suppliers or a parent company. Loading and unloading operations are faster because several baskets can be handled at once. These stackable cages, also called collapsible baskets, can be stacked 4 high, holding 2,250 lbs on each level. When folded down, they can be stacked 20 high.
Mesh wire cage construction
The cage is made up of wire mesh walls on a reinforced base. The mesh spacing is 2” x 2”. The wire mesh basket is galvanized to improve rust protection, particularly when stored outdoors or in damp locations. A half door drops for better access to the bottom of the cage. A latch system facilitates this action. Casters, a cover, a sign plate or even different basket sizes are available in orders of 20 or more.

Foldable & stackable
The baskets can be easily folded and stacked to save space when not in use. Whether during a slow period, in a limited space or in shipment, the extra space is often very useful.
Container with wheels
The basket can be mounted on wheels for easier handling in the shop or plant. Even with 2 swivel casters and 2 fixed casters, the basket can still be stacked.
Reinforced wire decking
The bottom is built with channel steel to provide greater strength and rigidity. Load capacity is not a problem for storing auto parts and tires.
