Storage for light truck and passenger tires
Shipping Rack (#MSR)
Product number : MSR
The shipping rack is designed to move large numbers of tires from place to place, or load them into a dry box. The shipping rack is very similar to the transport rack (MTR), but not as wide. This helps when moving the racks around and reduces space requirements. For example, if you need to put a rack next to an assembly line, where space is often limited, the shipping rack will be a better choice than the transport rack (MTR).
The length of a 53-foot truck can hold 14 shipping racks by 2 high, taking 3 times less loading and unloading time than traditional wooden pallets. Based on our tests, one employee can load or unload a 53-foot trailer in just 24 minutes. If the tires were loaded in bulk in the same truck, 3 employees would take 4 hours to do the same job. Two shipping racks can be moved at once, allowing very large numbers of tires to be handled and saving time and effort for employees.
The tires must be laced in the shipping rack (photo C) in order to make the most of available vehicle space or warehouse space. When lacing similar tires, space is actually gained from the volume inside the tire. Depending on tire sizes, numbers vary from 45 to 70 tires per rack.

Fold-down tire shipping rack
With this tire rack, forks can be engaged from any direction (see photo fork pockets), each side being fitted with fork guides for stability and protection during tire handling. The ends can be easily folded down by a single employee. Leg wrappers (see photo fold-down system) make this operation easier and safer. Once folded down, the tire racks make maximum use of space for their return to the shipper, or simply regain 80% of the floor space used in the warehouse. Folded shipping racks can be stacked 20 high, which makes it possible to load as many as 81 racks into a 53-foot truck for the return trip.
Shipping rack uses
The tire shipping rack is used mainly by manufacturers who ship large volumes of tires to customers, such as automobile manufacturers and tire distribution centres, including logistics firms and shipping companies, who use the shipping racks to move large quantities of similar tires.
Fork pockets
Fork guides on all sides make the job easier for forklift operators. Since the rack is very long, the fork guides improve stability when it is being moved by the forklift
Kanban holder
A document holder on the rack can be used for a kanban or product ID and shipper ID.
Fold-down system
The fold-down system is easy to use and causes no loss of shipping rack rigidity. Moreover, it allows the racks to be stacked once the ends are folded down.
